For Nadine Wijnants, designing timeless beauty is still the most important goal in her work. The creation of jewels calls for a highly focused and original way of thinking. Nadine Wijnants concentrates on developing her own language: meaningful design, timeless, robust, wearable and clever.
Starting from the beginning – as if one is designing the first jewel ever: it is a fabulous feeling. It often involves conceiving of something in an almost infantile manner and then arriving at the conclusion that the execution calls for artisanry, although classical values are never far away.
Nadine Wijnants flirts with the recognisable, but eschews the feeling that it already exists. For her, timeless does not mean only austere and plain. It can be flowery and refined, or even quite cheeky – anything goes. When designing, the design becomes more and more refined, until the diamond (or other jewel) ultimately arrives at the perfect destination. Each time, there is a renewed urge to create the ultimate jewel for every customer. Her 27 years of experience have resulted in refined artisanry that often involves combining or applying techniques in a unique way. Her designs cannot be placed under any single heading.
Since 1990, Nadine Wijnants has been a trusted name in jewellery design. She studied for seven years at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In 1988, she won the Diamond High Council Award. This prize ignited her lifelong love of diamonds.
