If you lack inspiration about what to do on a cold autumn evening, there is one thing I surely can recommend: a moment of pure relaxation in the hot tub complex at Antwerp 2060. Or for those who prefer the ‘steam and clean’ story should definitely pay a visit to the hammam. There is the possibility as well to just have a swim in this magnificent Art Deco building.
After a massive renovation, the swimming pool - built in 1933 - is open again since 2009, and is for the city of Antwerp something to be very proud of. Reconstructed tastefully but with respect for the building’s history, they have succeeded to save this gem by donating it a second life.
The hot tub complex is equipped with a small swimming pool, a rest area, a jacuzzi, a hot tub, a fire and an ice tub (respectively extremely hot and cold, so be prepared), and two aroma tubs.
The hammam visit proceeds as in the traditional Moroccan way. After steaming a while covered up with olive soap, the skin of your whole body gets exfoliated until it feels extremely soft, light and clean.
As to the swimming pool, put on your swimming suit in the old school changing rooms and clear your head in the water beneath the enchanting Art Deco ceiling.
