Meet Barnini: Breakfast & bagel haven with local artists’ work on the walls and vintage thingies to sit on and eat at.
You need your daily vitamins and shot of caffeine before you hit the city? Of course you do! And you don’t want to walk too far to the shops afterwards? No shame in that, after all - you’re on a holiday / weekend / day off and things should be yummy and easy.
Barnini is famous for its bagels - with catchy names like “Popeye” with chicken, spinach, parmesan and iceberg salad (€ 5 ladies and gents!) - and coffee but oh boy they do a pretty mean healthy breakfast as well with pressed orange juice, a bowl of freshly cut fruit and yoghurt. Add an extra smoothie to the mix and you’re good to go!
Look around and spot work from local designers, photographers, ... on the walls or drop in at one of the “Barnini by night” evenings for one of the artists’ vernissages and stay to listen to local bands.
After breakfast you can stroll your way into shopping mode in no time. This hotspot is located at the “Theaterplein” (markets on Saturday and Sunday!), which is a 2 min walk from the main shopping street (the “Meir”).
