Pomrad has really been on the rise this past year. He's already made 2 great EPs and has a unique sound. This Antwerp musician and ex-conservatory student is going to be Belgium's next big thing. This summer you can find him on a lot of festivals like Boomtown, Rock Herck, Dijlefeesten, Deep in the Woods and Out Loud Festival.
When I was a kid I used to write stories in class with bizar characters. Pomrad was one of these characters.
Yes certainly. Next thing I bring out will be a full album hopefully.
I think in general it's a little more mature: more quiet, more song structures and sounds less like an arcade hall. Though the arcade element will reappear in things I'm working on now.
I would like to, but since people are just getting to know me in Belgium and pretty much totally unknown in the rest of the world, I think an international tour is something for the distant future.
Like the previous EP it is done by . Victor is great to work with. I had some ideas about atmosphere and basic image, then we sat down together and discussed the possibilities and brainstormed for concrete ideas. We worked out some ideas and we drove to the beach with a basic concept, a lot of stuff and a camera. Because of the deadline of the artwork for This Day, we had to do the shoot in wintertime. It was december and it was a very cold day. Trying to capture a warm summer image while we were actually freezing is tricky. But I think Victor pulled it off.
