Step inside and you don’t know where to look first. There’s art on the walls and there’s fashion clothing in the corner. Tree trunks to sit on, a drawing table and a small bike which you can ride to squeeze the fruit for your shake.
This new coffee bar on Moorkensplein in Borgerhout is the latest asset on this rapidly changing square. A few years ago there were only a few dodgy bars here, now there’s the popular bar Mombasa, the cozy little restaurant Miro and Mokkakapot.
Mokkakapot serves a nice selection of coffee and teas and a lot of homemade juices and their sandwiches and scones are very tasty. Of course you can also have a Belgian beer here. But not the beers you find everywhere: try for an example Blauw Pils , a beer that was very popular in the fifties and which has a great retro-looking bottle.
Come here with friends or come here alone, you will have a great time anyway.
