There are a lot of great Indian restaurants in Antwerp ( , , , ,...)! And who doesn't love a good Chicken Tikka Masala? is definitely one of the great ones but is also a bit different from the rest and I'll tell you why...
Aahaar is a full veggie restaurant, located in a quiet (and a bit shabby looking) street right next to the Keyserlei. They just renovated the whole restaurant and it now sports white and bright green on the wall. It's definitely a better look than before and it looks clean but that's all I can really say about it (tasty = subjective). But who cares about the interior when the food is great? I must admit, the first time I came here I expected veggie versions of the traditional restaurant dishes (like tandoori, korma, masala,..) but that is not the case. I didn't know anything on the menu except for the drinks. If like me, you don't know any of the "real" or traditional indian cuisine, go for the buffet. it will only set you back €9 ! It's a great way to taste all the different things and you can eat as much as you want, as long as you're not wasteful (obviously!). Drink tips: order a mango lassi or a Kingfisher beer .
