This Is Antwerp invited 12 internationals to Discover Antwerp Through Experience, in short to go on a D.A.T.E. with Antwerp from the 3rd until the 8th of November. We’ll show them the best hidden secrets, jaunt the hottest places, survive workshops together, enjoy the finest meals and much more. But most important they will meet that one important thing that fuels Antwerp to be the dynamic city that it is today: creative people.
To get more acquainted with our guests, our own This Is Antwerp locals will gradually shine their light on them for you. We're more than happy to share their findings with you this week. Today we asked Vincent Van Reusel from to tell us what he knows about three of our guests: Malin Henningson, Reynald Feracci and Ebony Bizys.
I’m so excited about next week’s D.A.T.E. aka Discover Antwerp Through Experience! Especially when it comes to meeting the stylish bloggers Malin Henningsson, Reynald Feracci and Ebony Bizys. Thanks to the non-existing privacy of today’s blog community, I could easily discover some juicy info about these bloggers who will soon discover our lovely A-town.
is a Stockholm-based jewelry designer who started her own eponymous line about a year ago. She has experience in fashion and visual arts, which you can clearly see in her works. No matter if it’s through jewelry, fabrics or art, she has a visual identity I completely can identify with. Slightly minimalist, obviously geometrical, communicating materials, all with a pinch of humor that gives me a suspicion she’s a great girl to have a chat with over a Bolleke. (For those of you who don’t know what Bolleke means, be prepared to be amazed!)
I’ve recently got more and more into jewelry, especially thanks to my Antwerpian friends of Studio Collect, Beyond Fashion and Jonathan Hens. Something tells me Malin won’t have a bore in Antwerp.
Reynald Feracci, a dude with humor and style. And he’s living in Paris, which I like since I’ve lived there myself for a couple of months during my studies. Plus, he launched fashion label , started a textile printing business called We Are The Printers, AND when I browsed through his pictures and music likes, there is only one thing I can say: GIVE ME YOUR LIFE! No, really, this dude must have a blast all the time or, option two, he is an absolute curatorial genius of his online presence. No matter which of these assumptions are true, I am definitely excited about meeting Reynald. And, who knows, go crazy in the Antwerp night life.
Oh, the ‘kawaii-ness’ of it all! Ebony Bizys embodies pure cuteness with her blog . Yes, I’m thinking it too: “only in Japan”, right? Well yes, this Australian craft artist is living in Tokyo and does all the cute stuff you’d expect her to do. BUT, don’t be fooled: I can sense a real business woman underneath those perfectly styled bangs! Ebony has been working for several Vogue magazines for over 11 years, is currently blogging for Vogue Japan and has published a Japanese craft book and a guide to Tokyo! Bizys means business, obviously! Look at me using exclamation marks all over the place! Her enthusiasm is so catchy! I wonder how it will be when we meet in real life!
I think Malin, Reynald and Ebony will be a jolly threesome to hang out with. I already feel inspired by them and I hope – no, I’m confident – that Antwerp will inspire them in return.
Tomorrow our This Is Antwerp local Ikram, founder of art platform , will introduce you to more of our international D.A.T.E.'s...
