This Is Antwerp invited 12 internationals to Discover Antwerp Through Experience, in short to go on a D.A.T.E. with Antwerp from the 3rd until the 8th of November. We’ll show them the best hidden secrets, jaunt the hottest places, survive workshops together, enjoy the finest meals and much more. But most important they will meet that one important thing that fuels Antwerp to be the dynamic city that it is today: creative people.
Next to diamonds, first impressions also last forever. So we asked some of our visiting creative minds what their first impressions of Antwerp are.
The very likeable photographer was impressed by our huge Central Station and the vintage feel of the city.
Fashion designer Reynald Feracci from editor Zsuzsanna Toth was really surprised by all the different colors of the city. Not just the people but also the different buildings gave her this impression. She loves how she can't compare the Antwerp feel to any other city she's been to so far.
We love to be surprised. Especially when we’re on a D.A.T.E.. It didn’t take us long to get the foodies from involved. Urban Kitchen Squad is a guerilla dining concept. The chefs from UKS serve an exclusive diner on a secret location somewhere in Antwerp on a monthly base. Basically all you need to do is make your reservation and wait by your phone for more instructions. We don’t really know where we’ll end up, but we’ll keep you posted!
The guys from made it their goal in life to show people what Antwerp is all about from the Antwerpian point of view. They figured their guided tours automatically had to include a bike because that’s what most Antwerp locals use as means of transportation. Tomorrow morning Cyclant will give our 12 guests a sneak preview of the city where they will reside for the next 5 days.
In the afternoon our internationals get the chance to join a 3D-printing initiation by or the chance to pimp one of the ABHostel rooms together with the awesome Antwerp graphic designer Jangojim.
Don’t worry, you don’t have to miss a thing. We asked our This Is Antwerp locals to cover most of the workshops for you. So keep an eye out for our blog or follow us on , or !
