Plenty of cosiness
You’ll undoubtedly want to spend a bit more time in the historic centre of Antwerp. That’s easy to do thanks to the many attractive restaurants and typical cafés on our Grote Markt. The Groenplaats – only a five minute walk away – will tempt you with brasseries and sunny terraces.
Pop over to Hoogstraat, which is car-free, where many of the unique shops are also open on Sundays.
Centrally located shopping centre
At the Groenplaats shopaholics will find the Grand Bazar Shopping Center. With 50 shops under one roof, it’s the largest shopping centre in the inner city. It offers everything from lingerie to electronics. On rainy days (yes, we have quite a few of those in Belgium) you’ll stay nice and dry.
Collectibles and art
The historic city centre is characterised by cosy, winding streets where antique lovers – or those looking for something attractive – encounter an endless supply of collectibles. Its many antiques, vintage and second-hand shops make the Kloosterstraat highly recommended. The Wolstraat and Lange Koepoortstraat will also charm you with their old books and remarkable art objects. It’s easy to spend hours here.
